Academies at UCLA Coaching and Cash for Entrepreneurial Not-for-Profit Organizations Not-for-Profit Organizations The Academies for Social Entrepreneurship and UCLA Department of Economics in the Division of Letters and Sciences is pleased to announce the 2025 Social Enterprise Academy, featuring the talents of UCLA’s students, faculty, and alumni. The Academy supports not-for-profit organizations in developing business ventures that expand their impact and income. Selected not-for-profit organizations, represented by 3 to 5 team members, work with students to select the best enterprise idea, conduct market research, AND create a business plan. Students (who will be receiving academic credit for the work they perform) are paired with each organization to assist in the venture development process. Each organization will also be connected with experienced mentors to facilitate the process. The Academy process is anchored by eight work sessions which take place approximately twice a month on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 9:00 pm via Zoom or on the UCLA campus. Work sessions are led by UCLA faculty, alumni, and others with extensive business experience. The program concludes in late May with a two-round venture competition during which participants pitch to a panel of judges with expertise in impact investing. Over $30,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the most promising ventures. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2024, AND SPACE IS LIMITED.
